13th April 2015

As part of the Counterpart Programme for the Lytham Arts and Music Festival, I was hired to conduct two Caricature Workshops. They were very much hands on. I began with a quick introduction about myself, using a few samples of my work to grab attention, discussing basic caricature theory before getting the group to draw one another. I went round the room offering a critique and tips.  This built up an entertaining gallery of work within the session, which I supplemented with additional caricatures as we progressed. The session concluded by placing all the artwork together for a final assessment pointing out some of the best or funniest images.

The workshops proved to be a great success and moved the Event's Co-ordinator, Christine Stringfellow to say, "thank's for one of the funniest workshops I have been part of. I think the groups laughed more than they drew and the results were excellent!"
